Privacy Policy

Vanto is a Mac app made by Slenbder, an independent developer. This policy explains what information the app, this website, and the purchase process handle. In short: what you copy never leaves your Mac, and the app contains no analytics or tracking. This website counts visits without cookies, and records sessions only if you allow it.

What stays on your Mac

Your queue. Text, images, and files you copy while collection is on are kept only on your Mac. Copies of queued files are stored in the app’s own folder and removed after they are pasted, removed, or cleared.
Settings. Shortcuts, language, and other preferences are stored locally.
Trial. The start date of your 14-day trial is stored in your Mac’s Keychain and is never sent anywhere.

Vanto has no account system, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no advertising.

When Vanto connects to the internet

Vanto makes network requests for two things only:

License activation and checks. When you activate a license, Vanto sends your license key and a label made from your Mac’s name (for example, “Vanto on Anna’s MacBook”) to Lemon Squeezy’s License API, so you can see and manage your activated Macs. About once a week, and when you deactivate, Vanto sends the license key and the activation ID it received. Lemon Squeezy handles this under Lemon Squeezy’s privacy policy.
Updates. Vanto checks a public update feed hosted on GitHub and downloads new versions when they are available. These requests include your IP address and standard request information, as any web request does. Vanto does not send a profile of your Mac.

Purchases

Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for Vanto: it processes payments, calculates taxes, and issues receipts and license keys. Your payment details go to Lemon Squeezy and its payment providers and are never shared with me. I receive order details such as your name, email address, country, and license key, and use them only to provide your license, support, and refunds.

This website

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect it.

Visit statistics. To learn how the site is used and where visitors come from, it counts visits with Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service, with data stored in the EU. It records the page you view, the site that sent you, campaign tags in the link, your browser, operating system, device type, country and region, and actions such as how far you scroll, which buttons you click, which FAQ answers you open, how you use the demo, which site language you use or switch to, and how you use the cookie prompt, including your choice and any bites of its cookie. Umami uses no cookies and does not store your IP address or anything else that identifies you. Visits are only counted in aggregate. These requests go through this site’s own address before reaching Umami.

Session recordings, only if you allow them. If you choose “Paste it” in the cookie prompt, the site also loads Microsoft Clarity, which records how you scroll, click, and move the pointer, and shows where on the page people click, so I can find what is confusing. Anything typed into form fields is masked; this site has no forms. Clarity sets cookies (_clck, kept for up to a year, and _clsk, kept for a day) to connect the pages of one visit. Microsoft processes this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. If you choose “Skip”, or make no choice, Clarity is never loaded.

You can change your choice at any time with the Cookies link at the bottom of every page. Your cookie choice, site language, and light or dark theme are saved in your browser’s local storage and stay on your device.

Email

If you write to [email protected], I use your message and email address only to reply to you, and keep the conversation for as long as needed to support you.

Your choices

You can ask me what information I hold about you, or ask me to correct or delete it, by writing to [email protected]. Order records may need to be kept for tax and accounting purposes. You can also deactivate a Mac from Vanto’s Settings at any time.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
